Mexico once aligned DST with the US, but rules shifted repeatedly. **Since 2022** most of the country dropped DST; some border states still follow US switches. Four main zones (UTC-5 to UTC-8) — verify IANA per city for maquiladora and support shifts.
Main IANA zones
- America/Mexico_City — Central (Mexico City, Guadalajara)
- America/Cancun — Quintana Roo (UTC-5, Eastern)
- America/Tijuana — Pacific border (may follow US DST)
- America/Hermosillo — Sonora (no seasonal shift)
